More Than 42,000 Pupils And Students In Osun Receive Free Corrective Glasses
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has announced that over 42,000 pupils and students from public primary and secondary schools have received free corrective eyeglasses as part of efforts to address visual impairments. The governor made the announcement in Osogbo during the symbolic presentation of corrective glasses and medical supplies to students, alongside the distribution of medical equipment to OHIS-accredited government hospitals. He highlighted that the intervention, currently a pilot phase for public schools, would soon extend to private schools to ensure that no child is left behind.
Additionally, Governor Adeleke revealed that his administration has invested in the acquisition of medical equipment for government health facilities and implemented the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), which now covers 25,000 pensioners and 10,000 persons living with disabilities (PWDs), providing them with necessary healthcare and assistive devices.
