Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Henry Okoye, confirmed the discovery and detailed the operation. A viral video circulating on social media had previously depicted the unsettling scene of four decomposing bodies uncovered by Imo hunters and forest guards.

The Commissioner of Police directed a specialized team to conduct an extensive search across the forests and bushes in the area, exploring the possibility of additional kidnappers and victims.
