In a statement issued by NSIPA’s National Communications Manager, Jamaludeen Kabir, the agency clarified that Minister Betta Edu had no involvement in any financial transactions or decisions currently under scrutiny at NSIPA. The statement emphasized the agency’s commitment to serving vulnerable communities and affirmed its adherence to due process and prudent financial management in line with established regulations.

The statement read: “NSIPA vehemently distances itself from any claims connecting the Honourable Minister to financial impropriety or any wrongdoing within the agency. It is crucial to emphasise that the Honourable Minister has had no involvement in any financial transactions or decisions within NSIPA currently under scrutiny.”

Highlighting the distinction between the suspended National Coordinator/CEO and the agency, NSIPA clarified that the actions of the former do not reflect the agency’s practices or principles. The agency expressed active cooperation with the ongoing investigations under the guidance of the acting National Coordinator and CEO, Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo.

The statement underscored NSIPA’s integrity, commitment to serving vulnerable communities, and adherence to due process. It urged the public and media outlets to verify facts before making assertions and cautioned against associating Minister Betta Edu with the investigations, as she holds no responsibility for the current circumstances at NSIPA.
