NDLEA Takes Down Insurgents’ Drug Network, Seizes 7.6 Tons Of Illicit Drugs

Amid the crackdown, a 42-year-old suspected supplier of narcotics to insurgents in Borno state was apprehended, adding to the agency’s relentless efforts to dismantle drug networks that fund violence.
The largest seizure occurred in Nasarawa State, where a truck laden with 367 jumbo bags of cannabis sativa was intercepted, marking a crucial victory in the fight against drug trafficking. Additional operations in various states yielded further arrests and confiscations, including tramadol pills, cannabis, and other psychotropic substances.
From the bustling streets of Lagos to the border regions of Borno, NDLEA operatives displayed unwavering determination, targeting drug traffickers regardless of their location or affiliation.
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), lauded the commendable efforts of the agency’s commands across multiple states, underscoring the commitment to stamping out illicit drug activities and safeguarding communities.
As the nation grapples with security challenges, NDLEA’s decisive actions stand as a testament to its resolve in tackling drug-related crimes and disrupting the illicit drug trade that threatens peace and stability.
