Confirmation of Agidy’s death was provided by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, during a briefing with journalists on Tuesday.

The incident harks back to November 2023, when gunmen abducted a total of 19 individuals from their residences in the Galadimawa region of the nation’s capital. Despite concerted efforts by the lawmaker and security forces to secure the lawyer’s release, a grim report surfaced earlier indicating that 12 abductees had been killed, though their identities remained undisclosed.

On Tuesday, the FCT PPRO disclosed that Samaila Wakili, a notorious kidnapper operating in the capital city and a wanted criminal, was responsible for the slaying of the lawmaker’s aide. Wakili was apprehended by police operatives in the Sardauna Forest, situated in Nasarawa State’s Toto area, on February 24.

Following Wakili’s capture, the FCT PPRO revealed that the suspect cooperated with law enforcement, leading them to the location where Barr. Chris Agidy’s body was discovered. Subsequently, the deceased’s remains were retrieved and transported to the Gwagwalada General Hospital.
