Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has announced that Monday, July 8, 2024, will be a work-free day to commemorate Al-Muharram, the first day of the Islamic Calendar.

This declaration acknowledges the significance of the Islamic calendar and the beginning of a new year.

Governor Mohammed has also pledged to address the infrastructure deficit in Bauchi, highlighting his commitment to the state’s development. Other recent news includes the case of a 67-year-old who defiled two siblings in Bauchi and a deadly rivalry over a girlfriend that resulted in two deaths.

Gidado continued, “The government acknowledges the significance of Al-Muharram as a time of renewal and spiritual growth for our Muslim brothers and sisters. Bala Mohammed extends his best wishes to all citizens observing this important day, encouraging everyone to engage in activities that promote peace, unity, and understanding within our diverse society.”

He further stated that government offices, schools, and banks will observe the work-free day, with normal activities resuming the following day.
