NIGERIA’S LINGERING INSECURITY; TINUBU—THE RIGHT MAN TO TACKLE/QUENCH THE INFERNO.

Nigeria as a country, has suffered from different genres of insurgency for many decades, ranging from ethnic, religious, political, to tribal—some includes the Tiv/Jukun crisis, Kare-Kare and Fulani, ESN aka IPOB, Boko Haram aka ISWAP, Mai Tatsine, Shiite, e.t.c

According to a high profile security expert named Wilter—a nation has security when it does not have to sacrifice its legitimate interests to avoid war, and is able, if challenged, to maintain them by war. He also added that the distinctive meaning of national security means freedom from foreign dictation.

In a statement issued by Arnold in 1960, national security objectively means the absence of threats to acquired values and subjectively, the absence of fear that such values will be attacked.
National security then is the ability to preserve the nation’s physical integrity and territory; to maintain its economic relations with the rest of the world on reasonable terms; to preserve its nature, institution, and governance from disruption from outside; and to control its borders. Looking at all these definitions, Nigeria has fallen into an acute threat to National security.

Last week proved itself to be a week to forget for all nationalists—within a single week, a train station was attacked, an airport was subsequently attacked, as if it was not enough, a train got bombed which led to derailment and claimed the lives of many innocent people, inducing substantial injuries to some, and leaving many unaccounted for.

Analyzing and looking at all this from distinct angles, it is evident that Nigeria is desperately in need of a man who, at any time can stand and fight for the masses, improve national security and bring an end to decades old insurgencies and menace facing the nation from different regions.

In a more explicit and concise term, I have taken a glance at the security measures administered by the tenure of Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the year 2005 in Lagos State when their security deteriorated and suffered, the security measures explored by the then Governor of Lagos state were decisive and extraordinary, he turned the table around, he installed a new security framework/scheme, which up to date, serves as a guideline and manifesto to security issues in the state.

The refinement of security in Lagos was what brought the state where it is today, as it stands, Lagos is one of the safest states in Nigeria, although crime may be termed as an inevitable feat, the only way and solution to exclusively curb it is by giving chance to people of high repute to display their capacity in bringing an end to the issue of lingering security of a country.

Personally, I would entrust none for the integral job of restoring peace, stability and security in Nigeria but Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And the logic driving my choice is a very simple but logical one—someone with the capacity to restore order in the most populous and commercial state in the country, Lagos, at a critical and difficult time, is the only man worthy of being given a chance to represent us in order to showcase his mastery at the national level.

Lagos state is the most definitive sample of Nigeria, it may be termed as a “mini-Nigeria” due to its diversity, economic prowess, and political prominence. Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led such a complex and sophisticated state swiftly without an ounce of anxiety—hence, since then, he is referred to as the builder of “modern Lagos” by Lagosians.

Dear Nigerians, this is our chance to step up and mount someone with proven capacity, someone with the experience, someone with will give to Nigerians—not “take”, someone whose integrity speaks for itself, a messiah, ready to take on the mission of rescuing us. The choice is yours to make, we have made ours, can you be bold enough to take such a stand?
