Nigeria’s Super Eagles Match Against Jordan Ends In A Draw

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a 2-2 draw by Jordan national football team in an international friendly played in Turkey on Tuesday, concluding their March international window with a win and a draw, according to Ireporter Online.

Jordan took the lead in the 17th minute, placing early pressure on Nigeria, but the Super Eagles responded swiftly to regain composure. Moses Simon restored parity in the 26th minute, reacting quickest inside the box to convert from close range after an initial effort from Ademola Lookman was blocked.

Nigeria went ahead before halftime through debutant Emmanuel Fernandez, who marked his first start with a calm left-footed finish after controlling a delivery from Bright Osayi-Samuel, capping a strong first-half performance that saw the team dominate proceedings.

The second half, however, presented a setback when goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was forced off due to injury following a clearance, leading to the introduction of Adebayo Adeleye as his replacement.

Head coach Eric Chelle made tactical changes as the match progressed, bringing on Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi to strengthen the midfield and preserve Nigeria’s lead. Despite these adjustments, Jordan found a late equaliser in the 77th minute, setting up a tense conclusion.

Nigeria handed a debut to Phillip Otele in the closing stages, while Samuel Chukwueze was also introduced as the team pushed for a winner.
