President Bola Tinubu has launched a welfare fund for members of Nigeria’s Armed Forces in celebration of his 74th birthday. According to Ireporter Online, the initiative aims to support active soldiers, those injured in service, and families of officers who have died while serving the nation. Tinubu directed the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation to establish a special account to serve as a central pool for the fund. As a starting contribution, the President committed all the salaries he has received since assuming office in May 2023.
