Kris Asimoye, wife of popular Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma, has revealed that her husband advised her against changing her name after marriage. The businesswoman, who shares three children with Ugboma, made the disclosure during an Instagram post.

Asimoye explained that she did not fully grasp the reason for her husband’s advice at the time. However, she now understands his reasoning, noting that retaining her maiden name has allowed her to establish and grow her personal business brand.

She wrote: “When I got married, my husband encouraged me not to change my last name. At the time, I did not fully understand why. Now, building Kris Asimoye as a brand, I understand completely.”
