During a media briefing at the Command Headquarters, Commandant Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde disclosed that the suspects were apprehended at different locations across the state.

On March 5, 2025, operatives from the Toro Division arrested Sha’aban Yahaya (22) and Mustapha Mohammed (21), both from Magama Gumau, Toro LGA, for allegedly stealing two Bajaj motorcycles from Sunshine Lodge and Gidan Oga Ali House in Tilde Fulani. The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime.

In another incident on March 7, 2025, NSCDC officers from the Alkaleri Division apprehended Iliyasu Yahaya (22) of Badanga Village, Bauchi LGA, for allegedly vandalizing an oil pipeline and illegally extracting kerosene. Seized items included six filled 25-litre containers of kerosene, four empty containers, a hacksaw, and a machete.

Additionally, on February 26, 2025, Ayuba Isah (38) of Alkaleri LGA was arrested for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl, Fatima Ibrahim, in an uncompleted building at Unguwan GRA, Alkaleri. A medical examination confirmed penetration, although the suspect denied the allegation.

On March 4, 2025, Samaila Emmanuel (22) from Wunti, Bauchi, was arrested for allegedly siphoning diesel from a 150kVA Mikano generator designated for street lighting.

Commandant Oyerinde reaffirmed NSCDC’s dedication to safeguarding public infrastructure and urged criminals to desist from illegal activities or face legal action. He confirmed that all suspects, except Ayuba Isah, had confessed and would be prosecuted accordingly.

He also called on Bauchi State residents to support security agencies by providing timely and accurate information to help curb criminal activities.
