Represented by former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, at the public presentation of Dr. Umar Ardo’s book “Court and Politics,” Obasanjo emphasized the urgent need for increased productivity and prudent resource management.

Highlighting the root causes of the economic downturn, Obasanjo pinpointed the lack of productivity among Nigerians and mismanagement of resources as key factors. He advocated for a decentralization of power and resources from the federal government to state and local levels, promoting effective resource management and competition reduction at the central level.

Obasanjo stressed, “The important thing is to devolve power and resources to the states and certain jobs from the federal to state and local governments.”

Echoing Obasanjo’s sentiments, Shehu Musa Gabam, Chairman of the book launch committee and National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), underscored the challenges in Nigeria’s political landscape, citing the judiciary’s reliance on technicalities over factual considerations in electoral matters.

Gabam urged Nigerians to unite and demand accountability from authorities, rejecting cowardice as a solution to Nigeria’s woes.

Obasanjo’s strategic proposals offer a roadmap for Tinubu’s administration to navigate the complexities of Nigeria’s economic landscape, fostering sustainable growth and prosperity for all citizens.
