Oshiomhole Mocks Atiku, Says He Has Become APC’s Strongest Campaigner

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Oshiomhole said the growing public disagreements among prominent opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, would ultimately work to the advantage of the APC.

According to the former Edo State governor, Atiku’s criticisms of Peter Obi and the ongoing exchanges between Obi and Amaechi demonstrate the lack of unity within the opposition camp.

Oshiomhole remarked that rather than posing a threat to the ruling party, the divisions among opposition leaders have effectively turned Atiku into what he called APC’s “best campaign manager.”

He expressed confidence that no coalition arrangement by opposition parties would be strong enough to unseat the APC in 2027, insisting that Nigerians remain unconvinced by the opposition’s message.

The senator challenged opposition leaders to present clear alternatives to the economic and social policies introduced by President Bola Tinubu, including the removal of fuel subsidies, tax reforms and the student loan programme.

Oshiomhole argued that unless the opposition can explain which of these initiatives they intend to reverse and how they would govern differently, their bid to win power will fail.

He further alleged that opposition figures are united solely by their ambition to take control of government, rather than by any coherent policy agenda.

The lawmaker maintained that President Tinubu has undertaken difficult but necessary reforms aimed at restructuring the Nigerian economy and positioning the country for long-term growth.
