Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has expressed optimism that Nigeria has moved past the worst phase of its economic crisis, assuring citizens that the country is now on a path to recovery under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

Speaking at Clark’s burial ceremony in his hometown of Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, Jonathan noted that the legacy of the former Pan Niger Delta Forum leader would endure in the lives he touched and in the annals of Nigeria’s history.

“Chief (Dr.) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark was a distinguished activist and social reformer— a symbol of unity during divisive times and a bridge builder where others erected barriers.

“Though his earthly journey has ended, his light will never fade. He lives on in our hearts, in our collective memory, and in the vision of a better Nigeria that he so passionately pursued,” Jonathan said.

“The Ijaw nation has lost a powerful voice. He is simply irreplaceable,” Governor Diri remarked.

In his tribute, Senator Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa West) praised Clark as a legendary figure and a revered statesman.

“Pa Clark was undoubtedly an iconic leader and a symbol of pride for the Ijaw people and Nigeria as a whole. We are all proud of his contributions. His passing has been met with heartfelt tributes throughout the week, reflecting the immense respect he commanded.

“In recognition of figures like Pa Clark, my administration established the Ijaw Heroes Memorial Park, which serves not just as a cemetery but as a place of historical significance—and Pa Clark rightfully deserves a place there,” Dickson added.
