Retired Brig.-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, Commander of Osun Amotekun, reported that the arrests took place around 11:30 am on Tuesday following a distress call received by Amotekun Iwo Command.

“After receiving the distress call, our operatives swiftly intervened, apprehending the suspects red-handed,” Adewinmbi stated.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to the burglary, revealing that it wasn’t their first offense. Notably, Yekini Sulikaleni confessed to being a repeat offender, having served time in prison for similar crimes in the past.

Adewinmbi confirmed that the suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

He emphasized the importance of community collaboration with security agencies, urging residents to provide timely and relevant information to combat crime and safeguard security within the state.
