Osun Gov Adeleke Travels To UK For Medical Check-Up After Re-Election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has travelled out of Nigeria for a vacation and medical checks in the United Kingdom following the conclusion of the state’s governorship election.

According to Ireporter Online, Adeleke departed Nigeria on Sunday, September 6, 2026, with his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirming that the trip would include a period of rest and medical examination in the UK.

Rasheed added that the governor would visit other European destinations during the trip, although the specific locations were not disclosed.

The duration of Adeleke’s stay abroad was not immediately made public.

The governor’s trip comes shortly after he secured re-election in Osun State, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Adeleke is expected to return to his official duties in Osun State after completing his vacation and medical checks.

The governor described the break as an opportunity to refresh and prepare for the next phase of his administration.

“I am taking a short break to refresh and get further prepared to serve the good people of Osun State,” Adeleke was quoted as saying.
