According to Ireporter Online, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has recounted how a kidnapped pastor of the church was eventually released after he directly engaged the abductors during a ransom negotiation.

Speaking in a sermon that has since gone viral, Oyedepo explained that the kidnappers contacted the church demanding ransom, prompting him to take over the conversation. He said he issued a strong warning to the abductors during the call, insisting on the immediate release of the victim.

Oyedepo was quoted as saying that he told the kidnappers that if the pastor was not released within 24 hours, there would be consequences. He added that shortly after the exchange, tension reportedly rose among the kidnappers, and the situation changed dramatically, leading to the pastor’s release.

The cleric further urged members of his congregation to share his phone number with kidnappers in the event of any abduction, expressing confidence in what he described as spiritual authority and intervention.

He also referenced another incident involving a female church member who was abducted but later regained her freedom. According to him, the woman boldly told her captors that she would be released by a specific time, a statement he claimed unsettled the kidnappers and contributed to her eventual release.
