Pat Utomi Criticizes INEC’s Handling Of Recall Petition Against Natasha

Pat Utomi, leader of the National Consultative Front (NCF), has strongly criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its handling of the recall petition against Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District. He accused the commission of engaging in “shameless” conduct amid growing controversy surrounding the petition.

Utomi’s comments came in the wake of increased public attention on the ongoing recall efforts against the senator. In response, Utomi expressed his discontent on social media platform (formerly Twitter), describing INEC’s actions as “evil” and lamenting the commission’s failure to exercise restraint, despite mounting pressure against the recall.

“Trying to understand the character of evil opens one to all kinds of learning. That evil does not know shame is amazing,” Utomi stated, further asserting, “You would expect that, in light of everything happening, INEC would, out of shame, distance itself from the recall of Sen. Natasha when people are calling for the recall of the entire Senate.”

Utomi also underscored the need for a shift in Nigeria’s political direction, emphasizing that “evil knows not shame.” He suggested that INEC’s involvement in the recall petition is part of larger issues affecting the country’s political system, adding, “The Nigeria salvage mission needs a rethink. The Barbarians are clearly not at the gate. They own Main Street.
