PDP Finally Wins National Assembly Seat In Edo
Marcus Onobun, Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, has been declared the winner of the rescheduled election in the Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben Federal Constituencies.
According to Prof Solomon Omonigho, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer, Onobun received 17,611 votes to defeat his All Progressives Congress (APC) opponent, Patrick Idiake, who received 16,509 votes to finish second.
Omonigho stated that there were 221,888 registered voters in the constituency, with 46,849 voters being accredited.
