The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, revealed that the decision was prompted by the conclusion of the tenure of the Edo State Ward Executive Committees. To prevent any leadership vacuum in this crucial organ of the party, the outgoing executive committees have been appointed as ward caretaker committees.

The statement urged party leaders, stakeholders, and PDP members in Edo State to align with this directive and continue working collaboratively for the overall interest of the party in the state.

In a parallel development, the PDP Governorship Screening Committee for Edo State has granted clearance to all ten aspirants who faced scrutiny on Monday. Chaired by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, the committee ensured a thorough screening process, clearing eight aspirants who showed up for the certification.

This move signals the PDP’s commitment to internal organizational effectiveness, setting the stage for a dynamic and cohesive presence in Edo State politics.
