They had negotiated the money for their two victims with their supposed buyer, Jacob Olorunto, at the rate of N600,000, but were apprehended by police on their way to deliver it to the buyer in Igbo Obe, Oja Odan.
SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Thursday.
According to Oyeyemi, the supposed buyer, Olorunto, then informed the community’s Baale about the suspects’ intentions, and the Baale quickly informed the police, who advised the buyer to play along.
“On the 27th of December, 2022, the suspects called the alleged buyer, Jacob Olorunto, and informed him that they have two human beings for sale, a woman and her male child,” he said.
