as one of the strongest title contenders this season.

The attacking brilliance of Liverpool was on full display at the London Stadium, with goals from Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota. As 2024 comes to a close, Liverpool is eyeing only their second league title in 35 years.

Nottingham Forest, unexpectedly in second place, could challenge Liverpool’s lead, but Arsenal and Chelsea have the chance to close the gap in upcoming fixtures.

Manager Arne Slot, who has taken the reins after Jurgen Klopp, continues to lead the Reds to success, boasting an impressive 23 wins in 27 matches across all competitions. Though Slot urged caution, insisting that the season is far from over, Liverpool’s dominance so far is undeniable.

The match kicked off with a 30th-minute opener from Diaz, who benefitted from a deflection off a West Ham defender. Despite a close attempt from Mohammed Kudus hitting the post for West Ham, the game was effectively decided before halftime with two goals in quick succession. Salah’s clever assist set up Gakpo for a goal, before the Egyptian forward added his own, making it 2-0 and marking his 20th goal in his eighth consecutive season at Liverpool.

Speculation over the futures of key players like Alexander-Arnold, Salah, and Virgil van Dijk continues, but for now, they remain committed to the pursuit of Premier League glory. Alexander-Arnold impressed with a powerful strike, while Jota added a fifth goal, benefiting from Salah’s 13th Premier League assist of the season.

With this emphatic win, Liverpool has sent a clear message to their rivals as they look to clinch their second Premier League title in over three decades.
