Rangers F.C. have announced a 6.5% increase in adult season ticket prices as part of a broader strategy to boost revenue and invest further in the men’s first-team squad. According to Ireporter Online, the club’s Chairman, Andrew Cavenagh, said the decision comes amid rising operational costs and a commitment to maintaining competitiveness on the pitch.

Cavenagh explained that the club plans to raise £16 million through a share issue to support squad investment, with the ticket price increase complementing this initiative. He cited escalating expenses, including player wages, agents’ fees, security, and stadium operations, as factors driving the move.

“Revenue growth is essential to avoid cutting back on football investment,” Cavenagh said. “We believe this is the time to maintain, and even increase, spending on the squad rather than decrease it.”

While acknowledging the impact on supporters, he emphasized the club’s responsibility to allocate the additional funds efficiently. Rangers are also conducting a systematic review of operations to ensure a greater portion of resources supports the men’s first team.
