Saint Obi’s Widow Finally Breaks Silence After Her Husband’s Death With Fresh Revelations
Linda Nwafor, the spouse of the late actor Obinna Nwafor, widely known as Saint Obi, has opened up about her husband’s untimely passing. Saint Obi, who battled a prolonged illness, sadly passed away on May 8th in Plateau State at the age of 57.
He was laid to rest on August 18th in his hometown of Umuezealaeze, Alaenyi Ogwa, in Imo State’s Mbaitoli Local Government Area.
Linda Nwafor, who serves as the Chief Enterprise Business Officer at MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, shared her feelings about her late husband.

The couple had been entangled in a controversial divorce dispute that became public in February 2022.
During the funeral, captured on video by Yes! Magazine, Mrs. Nwafor expressed the difficulty of coming to terms with the fact that her children would no longer have their father. Reflecting on their love story, she said, “I believe our meeting was divinely orchestrated. You were highly domesticated; you could cook, bake and clean. I miss you. I still don’t know how to feel.”
Recounting their early interactions, she added, “You told our mutual friends immediately after you set your eyes on me that the only reason I wasn’t married was because I was waiting for you. You called me your wife even before you spoke to me. It was everything spiritual and a part of God’s plan. You told me that you knew that I would be your wife that very first day we met at the airport on my way to see my parents; it was October 2006.”
She also discussed his passing and its impact on their young family, saying, “This should not have happened. It is tough to accept that you are gone, that my children will no longer have a father, and that I will not hold your hulky frame again. My children and I pray for you daily. Your death has left us despondent. Losing you to the cold hands of death is my deepest sorrow. Nothing can heal the pain inside. I love you and always have.”
Following Saint Obi’s demise, Zik Zulu Okafor, a close associate of the late actor, shared a lengthy post about Saint Obi’s marital life and its potential connection to his passing. However, the family, represented by two of his sisters, Ugoeze Edith Chinyere Obichuku and Freda Nwachukwu, issued a statement refuting Okafor’s claims as “false” and “malicious.”
