Senate And House Of Representatives To Hold Special Joint Session With The President On May 29 To Mark 25 Years Of Continuous-Democracy

Ireporteronline understands that the Senate and House of Representatives will hold a special joint session on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of continuous democracy in Nigeria.

President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is expected to attend the joint sitting. Other dignitaries, including state governors, former leaders of the country, and National Assembly members, will also be present.

During the session, President Tinubu is anticipated to inaugurate the newly constructed National Assembly Library building, which will be named in his honor.

The event will feature speeches from notable figures. Former military president Abdulsalami Abubakar is scheduled to speak on “Contemplations of the Pathway to Democracy.” Additionally, former Senate President David Mark will discuss the Senate’s progress, while former Speaker of the House and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, will share insights on the House’s journey thus far.
