Serial Monster Jailed For 42 Life Terms—Disturbing Crimes Against Children Finally Uncovered

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) announced on Friday, October 4, 2024, that Phakathi was declared unfit to possess a firearm, and his name will be added to both the National Register for Sexual Offenders and the National Child Protection Register. The court also ruled that the victims must be notified when he is considered for parole, allowing them to provide input.

Phakathi was convicted of 90 counts of rape, 4 counts of compelled rape, 3 counts of forcing a child to witness a sexual act, 43 counts of kidnapping, 2 counts of assault, and 4 counts of theft. These horrific crimes were committed between June 2012 and March 2021, primarily targeting schoolchildren, with victims as young as 9 years old. Despite pleading for leniency during sentencing, Phakathi was shown no mercy, as the court ruled he showed no remorse and posed a continued danger to society.
