He argued that El-Rufai’s exit presents an opportunity for the current state governor, Uba Sani, and other APC leaders to reconnect with the people and re-energize the party ahead of future elections.

El-Rufai’s resignation letter, submitted to his ward in Kaduna on March 10, 2025, cited irreconcilable differences with the APC’s leadership as his reason for leaving.
