This Is For You” — Tinubu Speaks On His Reforms, Sends Message To Nigerians
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed that the economic reforms introduced by his administration since 2023 were designed in the interest of Nigerians and aimed at building a stronger and more sustainable economy.
According to IReporter Online, Tinubu stated this in a message to Nigerians on Wednesday while presenting an update on the reforms and their impact on the country.
The President said his administration had introduced difficult but necessary measures with the objective of creating an economy that would deliver better opportunities for Nigerians and strengthen the country for future generations.
Tinubu disclosed that he had directed the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, to present a detailed account of the reforms through the government’s “Reforms Scorecard”.
He said the scorecard would provide Nigerians with information on the achievements recorded, the costs associated with the reforms, the decisions taken by the administration and the potential economic difficulties that the measures were intended to prevent.
According to the President, Nigerians deserve to understand the figures behind the reforms and how the policies have affected individuals, families, businesses and the wider economy.
He stressed that the government’s responsibility was to be transparent with citizens by explaining what had changed since the reforms were introduced and outlining the work that still needed to be done.
Tinubu said the report was particularly important because the reforms were undertaken on behalf of Nigerians and therefore the people had a right to understand their impact.
He maintained that the administration remained committed to building an economy capable of working more effectively for citizens while creating a stronger foundation for future generations.
The President urged Nigerians to examine the information contained in the scorecard, noting that the reforms and their outcomes should be understood within the broader objective of strengthening the country’s economic future.
