Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured residents that his administration will complete several key projects and deliver more developmental initiatives before the end of his tenure.

According to IReporter Online, Fubara made the commitment on Tuesday while commissioning the 12.1-kilometre Egwi-Afara-Mba Road in Etche Local Government Area of the state.

The governor expressed confidence that projects his administration is unable to complete before leaving office would be properly handled by the next administration.

Fubara also explained that his decision not to seek re-election was taken in the interest of peace, stability and continued development in Rivers State.

He stressed that governance should be centred on providing essential services, protecting lives and property, and making genuine efforts to address the needs of the people, even when it is impossible to solve every problem.

The governor said the newly completed road would improve transportation, stimulate commercial activities and contribute to reducing insecurity in the Etche area.

He further promised to consider extending the road to Ndashi community while assuring residents that the General Hospital in the area would also be completed.

According to Fubara, healthcare remains a major priority for his administration despite the limited time left in office. He said his government had already begun rehabilitating and reconstructing zonal hospitals across the state.

He noted that projects in Bori, Omoku and Degema had either been completed or were at advanced stages, while work on the Etche facility had yet to make significant progress.

The governor, however, assured residents of Etche and Omuma that efforts would be made to ensure the area gets a standard hospital before his administration leaves office.

Fubara also responded to calls for the construction of the road leading to Ndashi, promising that the government would examine the request and take appropriate action.

He described the Egwi-Afara-Mba Road as a significant achievement, recalling that the project was initiated in 2024 at a particularly challenging period for his administration.

Despite the difficulties confronting the government at the time, he said work on the project continued because his administration remained committed to delivering projects that would benefit residents.

Fubara maintained that the true measure of a government should be the tangible achievements it leaves behind, rather than the challenges it encountered while in office.
