Tinubu Poised To Transform Nigeria’s Economy With France, China, And Global Allies
During a Thursday event at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu welcomed the ambassadors from France, Denmark, and China, emphasizing Nigeria’s commitment to expanding economic diplomacy. This was detailed in a statement from Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Expressing optimism to French Ambassador Marc Fonbaustier, Tinubu said, “President Macron has been a good friend, and I look forward to my upcoming visit to Paris to deepen our relationship and bring shared benefits to our citizens.”
The President highlighted Nigeria’s open-door policy for French investors, with current reforms aimed at strengthening the economy and improving lives. Fonbaustier praised Nigeria’s achievements and Tinubu’s leadership, pledging to boost bilateral engagement.
Tinubu also discussed recent agreements with China during a meeting with Ambassador Yu Dunhai, particularly those focused on trade and infrastructure. He acknowledged China’s expertise as a valuable model for Nigeria’s development, noting, “Your visit was a milestone in our relations, and Nigerians respect reformers like you,” Yu stated.
In talks with Danish Ambassador Jens Ole Bach Hansen, Tinubu voiced support for deeper partnerships directly benefiting Nigerians. He praised Denmark’s leadership in areas like democratic values and energy, commending the Danish-run APM terminal in Lagos as a positive example of business in Nigeria.
The President reaffirmed that diplomatic efforts would bring meaningful improvements to Nigerians’ lives, echoing Hansen’s sentiments on Nigeria’s significant regional and global influence.
