Muhammed Babangida, son of former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has categorically dismissed circulating reports claiming he turned down an appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The reports alleged that he had rejected his nomination as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), an institution central to the administration’s strategic economic revitalization efforts.

The alleged rejection stirred debate across political circles on Monday, prompting a swift and strong response from the Babangida family. In an official statement issued through the family’s media consultant, Deyemi Saka, it was firmly stated that the controversial letter being shared was a fabrication and not authored by Muhammed. ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, the consultant described the letter as not only fake but also a deliberate attempt by mischief-makers to distort public perception and undermine the ongoing reform efforts of the federal government.

The statement reaffirmed that Mr. Babangida sees his appointment as a significant opportunity to contribute to national development. It further clarified that he holds President Tinubu in high regard and considers the offer to serve as Chairman of BOA an honour he embraces with full commitment. ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, the statement emphasized Muhammed’s belief in President Tinubu’s RENEWED HOPE AGENDA and the sweeping reforms currently being implemented under his administration.

“Our attention has been drawn to a letter suggesting that Mr. Muhammed Babangida declined his appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture. This letter is a complete fabrication crafted by individuals seeking to serve their selfish interests over national unity,” the statement read in part. ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, Nigerians were strongly advised to disregard the letter entirely and remain vigilant against fake news aimed at sowing discord.
