when personal example aligns with the vision, and when there is a patriotic will to unite diverse minds for the collective good.
President Bola Tinubu has proven, through both his design and execution, that he is the leader Nigeria urgently needs to heal divisions, bridge gaps, unite its people, and ignite hope for the future.
In previous writings, I’ve emphasized the importance of unity and have attributed much of the burden of fostering patriotism and societal cohesion to leadership. In Nigeria’s complex landscape, leaders must demonstrate empathy and manage multifaceted concerns, even in the face of adversity.
Through his body language, policies, and public engagement, President Tinubu consistently exemplifies being The President for All Nigerians—a leader who focuses on inclusivity and shared prosperity.
His policies and programmes have been meticulously crafted to serve Nigerians across all demographics—regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background.
For instance, the landmark Student Loan Scheme implemented by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) benefits students from all regions, while the Consumer Credit Scheme managed by CREDICORP provides credit facilities tailored to diverse Nigerian communities. Initiatives such as the CNG Initiative are imbued with the same spirit of inclusivity and national progress.
In 2024, President Tinubu established the Ministry of Livestock Development with ambitious reforms aimed at addressing long-standing herder-farmer conflicts and unlocking the vast potential within Nigeria’s livestock sector.
President Tinubu emphasizes, “This isn’t about politics; it’s about opportunity and national progress. With modern technology and a commitment to work, we can harness the wealth embedded in our agricultural and livestock sectors. This will drive economic growth, boost food security, and ensure sustainability for generations to come.”
The livestock programme is poised to transform the agricultural landscape, enhancing productivity, promoting export opportunities, and fostering a robust value chain involving farmers, processors, herders, distributors, and consumers.
Additionally, President Tinubu has signed bills for the creation of zonal development commissions – North-West Development Commission and South-East Development Commission – to accelerate progress across all regions. The establishment of the South-East Development Commission, in particular, has been widely praised, marking a significant step toward inclusive development.
On January 4, President Tinubu paid a working visit to Enugu state, his first official engagement in 2025. The visit highlights his dedication to fostering unity and progress across Nigeria. During this visit, he inaugurated key projects, including the GTC Smart Green School, New Haven/Bisalla Road, and an International Conference Centre, further affirming his administration’s commitment to comprehensive development.
President Tinubu’s interactions with South-East leaders during this visit underscore his commitment to listening and addressing concerns, fostering a sense of unity, hope, and compassion.
Leadership, at its highest ideals, unites and inspires citizens for the greater good. President Tinubu exemplifies this in his unwavering dedication to building a better, more inclusive Nigeria.
