The collision caused the parked truck to slam into nearby shops, leading to widespread destruction and casualties. Five adult males were trapped under the debris, with one survivor rescued, three confirmed dead at the scene, and one individual still unaccounted for as rescue operations continue.

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) officials have been on the ground, coordinating the rescue efforts and deploying heavy equipment, including the “Super Metro,” to assist in recovery. Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, stressed the importance of safety measures and proper driver training to prevent such tragedies, highlighting the need for ongoing vigilance on the roads.

This deadly incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of adherence to safety standards in protecting lives.
