Tragedy Strikes: Three Killed In Lagos Building Collapse ‘See Photos’A tragic building collapse at Arowojobe Estate in the Maryland area of Lagos has claimed the lives of three individuals. The incident occurred on July 25, at No 13, Wilson Mba Street, leaving the community in shock.
According to Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the collapse happened at approximately 3:49 a.m. The LASEMA response team was quickly activated and arrived on the scene by 3:58 a.m.
- Fatalities and Rescues: The building, which was a set of three terraces under construction, collapsed, resulting in the deaths of three male site workers. Additionally, two males were rescued alive, and another trapped individual was saved thanks to the combined efforts of LASEMA and the Lagos State Fire Service.
- On-Site Treatment: One of the survivors was receiving on-site treatment, highlighting the swift action taken by emergency services.
The collapse has left the local community reeling and has raised concerns about construction safety and building regulations in Lagos.
