on Friday, Meranda introduced a new leadership team to guide the Assembly. Key appointments include:

• Temitope Adedeji (Ifako/Ijaye Constituency 1): Majority Leader
• Richard Kasunmu (Ikeja Constituency 2): Deputy Majority Leader
• David Setonji: Chief Whip
• Ganiyu Sanni (Kosofe Constituency 1): Deputy Chief Whip

The Speaker also chairs the Selection Committee, joined by notable members including Deputy Speaker Fatai Mojeed (Ibeju Lekki Constituency 1). Acting Clerk Taiwo Ottun will serve as Secretary.

Expressing gratitude for her colleagues’ trust, Meranda pledged to prioritize transparency, inclusivity, and the seamless delivery of democracy’s dividends. She highlighted the need for unity, emphasizing that the Assembly would leave past controversies behind to focus on delivering tangible benefits for Lagosians.

“We are united, and this is our strength to take bold steps for a brighter Lagos,” she stated, underlining collaboration with the Executive arm led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The House also paid tribute to the late Pa Sunny Ajose, a prominent Badagry leader and member of the Governor’s Advisory Committee.
