Former House of Representatives member Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma has made a heartfelt appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security forces, urging them to ensure that the forthcoming elections in Edo State are conducted without violence. Agbonayinma emphasized that the core purpose of elections is to serve the people, and he called for genuine efforts to create a peaceful electoral environment.

He urged the authorities to move beyond mere statements and take decisive, proactive steps to guarantee a smooth and fair election process. “I am appealing to Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the security agencies to ensure that Edo State has an election that is free and fair, not marred by violence,” Agbonayinma stated.

The former legislator praised the Inspector General of Police for his leadership and expressed confidence that President Tinubu would prioritize the safety of voters. He emphasized that the use of violence has no place in an election that should be focused on serving the people. “We will not be silent. Taking up guns has no place in an election that is about serving the people,” he asserted.

Agbonayinma called for an end to the cycle of violence, stressing that it is unsustainable and unjust.
