The minister also emphasised the rising expense of bitumen and the need for assurances about the longevity of asphalt roads. He emphasized that these contractors appear to prioritize short-term financial benefits over the long-term health of the country and its infrastructure.

Umahi’s sincerity and passion throughout his speech reinforce the argument for granting him the go-ahead to enact policies aimed at boosting local economic prosperity through the use of indigenous resources such as cement for road construction.
