Earlier reports indicated that the EFCC had declared Yahaya Bello wanted after Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo allegedly obstructed the agency’s operatives from arresting him. In response, the EFCC issued a circular urging anyone with information about Bello’s whereabouts to come forward.

The commission outlined 19 criminal charges against Bello, totaling ₦80.2 billion, and placed him on a watch list and a no-fly list to prevent him from leaving the country via any means of transportation.

In line with the EFCC’s directives, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) instructed its area and zonal commands to apprehend Bello if spotted.
