Your Daughter Should Run For President” — Sowore Fires At Kwankwaso In Fresh Attack
According to Ireporter Online, former African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, over remarks in which he stated that his daughter influenced his political decisions, including advising him on whom to work with during the 2023 general elections.
Kwankwaso, while speaking on Arise TV in an interview focused on political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections, disclosed that his daughter had encouraged him to consider working with Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi during the last election cycle. He further noted that the advice preceded later political interactions between both figures within the broader opposition realignment.
Reacting via his official handle, Sowore took a critical stance on the former governor’s comments, suggesting that reliance on his daughter for political direction reflects a decline in his political influence and capacity. He further argued that if Kwankwaso now depends on his daughter’s political judgement, then she may be more qualified to pursue leadership roles.
Sowore also accused the former presidential candidate of dishonesty and added a moral and religious rebuke in his statement, saying: “Mr. @KwankwasoRM, if your ‘daughter’ now has to tell you who to work for in 2027, then perhaps she, who obviously knows better than you, according to your own postulation, should be the one running for President. Clearly, you have become politically atrophied. Liars shall not make heaven! #AACOurParty.”
The exchange has since sparked reactions across political circles, with supporters of both figures debating the implications of the remarks ahead of the next election cycle.
