The announcement came after the governor’s unscheduled visit to Gusau General Hospital, where he expressed deep concern over the inadequate state of facilities, equipment, and staff.

During a statewide broadcast, Governor Lawal emphasized the urgent need for intervention, citing the poor conditions patients currently face in hospitals. The state of emergency declaration underscores the administration’s commitment to overhauling the healthcare system and providing immediate solutions to the challenges plaguing the sector.

The governor outlined comprehensive plans to address the issues, including massive infrastructural development, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and the establishment of standard laboratories.
