See What Supreme Court Just Did To Suit On CBN Naira Swap Deadline
The Supreme Court adjourned on Wednesday the suit filed by three state governors challenging the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) deadline for Nigerians to exchange their old notes for new ones.
The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing on the consolidated suits for next Wednesday (February 22).

The court presided over by Justice John Okoro, joined nine states as parties in the suit filed by the governments of Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara challenging the naira swap deadline.
As co-plaintiffs, the nine-member panel led by Justice Okoro was joined by the Attorneys General of Katsina, Lagos, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, and Sokoto States.
On the federal government’s side, the Attorneys General of Edo and Bayelsa states were also joined as co-respondents.
The governments of Edo and Bayelsa States had applied to join the suit initiated by the three governors against the CBN over the deadline set for the expiration of old naira notes as legal tender.
