The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate INEC’s level of readiness for the forthcoming governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states.
The Bayelsa REC, who participated remotely, explained that while the Commission did not include Sylva’s name as a candidate in the election due to the Federal High Court’s ruling, it would nonetheless comply with any decisions made by the appellate court.
“We have to ensure that we obey every court order on the matter. On whether he (Sylva) would be restored as a candidate for the election, that will be taken care of,” the REC added.
