The Appeal Court upheld the decision of the election tribunal, affirming Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the duly elected senator of Kogi State Central.

Furthermore, the court confirmed the annulment of Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had initially been declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The former vice president conveyed his congratulations to the senator on his social media page.
