Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has opened up about his hesitation towards marriage, revealing that the current realities surrounding relationships and weddings have made him increasingly cautious about settling down.

Speaking during a recent podcast interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, the 39-year-old entertainer disclosed that witnessing several marriages collapse shortly after elaborate wedding ceremonies has greatly influenced his perception of marriage.

According to reports, the rapper expressed concern over the emotional and financial pressures associated with modern weddings, noting that many individuals go to extreme lengths, including borrowing money, just to organise lavish ceremonies. He further revealed that some of his friends frequently seek financial assistance from him to fund their weddings, a situation he said he hopes to avoid personally.

Ice Prince stated that he is not ruling out marriage entirely but may consider taking that step later in life, possibly around the age of 40. He explained that some individuals he admires, including fellow rapper M.I Abaga, chose to get married at a later stage in life, which has also shaped his outlook.

The rapper also shared details about his future ambitions, saying he hopes to further his education and eventually venture into farming as part of the next phase of his life. He added that he does not envision himself actively releasing music albums at 40, indicating plans to gradually transition into other personal pursuits beyond entertainment.

His comments have since sparked reactions online, with many fans and social media users debating the pressures surrounding marriage, relationships, and societal expectations.
