Life itself demands evolution and progression from everyone and everything. As an artist, I believe we are philosophers of experience, and our art reflects the depth of our life encounters. Therefore, the more life experiences one accumulates, the more profound it resonates in their art.

‘Godwin’ stands out as one of the defining moments in your career. Do you envision replicating the success of such a monumental hit?

The essence of a masterpiece lies in its uniqueness and irreplicability. A wise individual once shared with me that a song’s virality is not merely by its composition, but by divine anointing. Music, to me, is a spiritual expression. Despite many artists singing identical lyrics with matching tempo and chorus, the impact may still differ. It takes genuine humility to acknowledge that success in music isn’t solely attributed to talent, skill, or effort but is rather bestowed by the grace of God.

Since ‘Godwin,’ I’ve been blessed with numerous other commercially successful hits worldwide. Nevertheless, I remain profoundly grateful for ‘Godwin’ as it propelled my name and presence globally. Credit is also due to Don Jazzy for his collaborative effort in creating that masterpiece.

Every song I’ve had the privilege to birth holds significance to me. My ultimate goal is to continuously find favor in God’s eyes and among men, whether through music, literature, or my persona. Regardless of a song’s magnitude, there will always be a greater one. Thus, my focus isn’t on chasing after a hit but on surrendering to the sovereignty of God, who can bless me with a fulfilling life, irrespective of music’s involvement.
