Led by NAFDAC’s Investigation & Enforcement Directorate, the operation aims to combat the illicit distribution and sale of unauthorized pharmaceuticals.

During the recent raid, numerous drug hawkers were apprehended, and a significant quantity of illicit drugs was confiscated. The seized items included aphrodisiacs, narcotic substances like tramadol, antibiotics, and various over-the-counter medications.

The combined street value of the seized drugs amounts to an estimated Fifty Million Naira.

Individuals involved in the illegal drug trade will face prosecution, while the confiscated drugs are slated for destruction as part of NAFDAC’s efforts to safeguard public health and curb the proliferation of counterfeit and harmful medications.
