APC Slams Governor Adeleke Over Unpaid Salaries–‘It Is Either Your’re Wicked Or The State Is Broke’
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for failing to pay March salaries to civil servants and retirees despite increased revenue allocation from the Federal Government. The criticism comes after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun accused the APC of being troubled by Governor Adeleke’s performance in office…..READ ALSO APC Members Begs Tinubu To Intervene And Reverse Electricity Tariff Hike To Avoid Hurting People Amid Next Election
In a statement, Osun APC chairman Kola Olabisi criticized Governor Adeleke for attending social events in Lagos instead of focusing on governance in Osun State. Olabisi questioned why workers and pensioners had not received their salaries, suggesting that this either reflected Adeleke’s cruelty or indicated that the state was financially strained.
The statement highlighted concerns about the governor’s handling of state finances, pointing to issues such as unaccounted-for revenue, including federal allocations and internally generated revenue (IGR), as well as unaddressed challenges faced by workers and retirees. The APC emphasized the need for Adeleke to prioritize governance over social engagements, particularly in light of the financial difficulties faced by many in the state.
