The arrest was confirmed in a statement by Jacinta Bernard, Media Assistant to the Acting Executive Chairman of the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), Emmanuel Agema. The statement detailed that Joseph’s arrest followed extensive efforts to dismantle his criminal operations and those of his gang.

Emmanuel Agema praised the DSS operatives for their successful operation, highlighting the significance of Joseph’s arrest in the broader campaign to eliminate illegal checkpoints and fraudulent revenue collection activities across the state.

Agema also assured that BIRS would continue to support security agencies in their mission to capture other members of Joseph’s gang and any remaining operators of illegal checkpoints in Benue State.

The statement concluded with an assurance that Orih Joseph will soon be arraigned in court to face prosecution for his alleged crimes.
