Why Governor Fubara Calls Himself The ‘Greatest Loser’ In Rivers LG Polls – See The Truth Behind His Confession

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has labeled himself the “greatest loser” in the upcoming local government elections due to his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), not participating. Speaking to political stakeholders at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Fubara acknowledged his personal disappointment but emphasized his duty to uphold the law.

Fubara explained that although the PDP is not involved in the election scheduled for Saturday, October 5, the process must proceed as mandated by the Supreme Court. “As Governor, I have to comply with the ruling that elected officials manage local government affairs,” he stated.

He also mentioned that despite the PDP’s absence, his administration is committed to following the legal framework laid out by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC). “RSIEC will conduct the election, and the government will complete the process in a few days,” he added.

Fubara expressed his gratitude to loyal PDP members who continue to support the democratic process, despite not directly benefiting from the election. He encouraged stakeholders to remain focused, avoid being swayed by misinformation, and assured them that the government would maintain order in Rivers State.

In his closing remarks, the governor reiterated his commitment to upholding democracy and keeping the state strong, vowing that the election process would not lead to confusion in Rivers State.
