Abubakar Momoh Receives NDYM Delegation, Affirms Commitment To Youth Empowerment In The Niger Delta
The Minister of Niger Delta Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, recently hosted a powerful delegation from the Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM) at his office in Abuja. The visit, which was aimed at strengthening ties and fostering collaboration, also served as an opportunity for the group to invite the minister to the inauguration ceremony of the NDYM’s newly elected president and executive council, scheduled for October 12, 2024.
The delegation was led by Major Frank Ikene, the newly elected president of the NDYM, alongside other prominent figures including Barrister Chief Harrison Onuro, a founding member of the NDYM and the pioneer Director of Youths at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Also present was the Grand Patron of NDYM, Hon. Dibiagwu Eugene Okechukwu, who currently serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta Ministry. Accompanying them was Barrister Uche Ewulu, a respected Niger Delta indigene and key stakeholder in the region.
During the visit, the leaders commended Engr. Momoh for his dedicated efforts toward the development of the Niger Delta region. They expressed their gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing such a capable and visionary leader to head the ministry, which plays a crucial role in addressing the needs and aspirations of the region’s youth.
Engr. Momoh, in his response, expressed his deep appreciation for their visit and the recognition of his work. He assured the delegation of his unwavering commitment to the development of the Niger Delta, emphasizing the importance of youth inclusion in the region’s growth. The minister also pledged his continued support for the NDYM and its initiatives aimed at empowering the youth.
The meeting was warm and productive, highlighting the mutual respect and collaboration between the Ministry of Niger Delta Development and key stakeholders in the region. The upcoming inauguration ceremony promises to be an important milestone for the NDYM, with the continued backing of the ministry ensuring a brighter future for the youth of the Niger Delta.
